2023 Certified Municipal Clerk and Finance Officer Association (CCMFOA) First Annual Rookie of the Year Winner Announced
The Certified Municipal Clerk and Finance Officer Association (CCMFOA) is pleased to announce Ashley Mai, City Clerk for the City of Russell, Kansas, as the winner of its first annual Rookie of the Year award.
The Rookie of the Year award recognizes new municipal clerks and finance officers who have demonstrated outstanding performance and dedication to their communities. This year’s winner, Ashley Mai, has been a dedicated member of the City of Russell team since December 2019 and has quickly made a positive impact on her community. Ashley was promoted to City Clerk in October 2021.
“We are thrilled to honor Ashley Mai as our first ever Rookie of the Year winner,” said CCMFOA President, Heather Hillegeist. “Ashley has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to her role as City Clerk and has shown that she is a rising star in our field.”
Mai has been praised for her work in improving communication and transparency between the City of Russell and its residents. She has also been instrumental in streamlining the city’s billing processes and has shown a strong commitment to professional development, currently working towards obtaining her Certified Municipal Clerk designation.
The CCMFOA Rookie of the Year award was established to recognize the contributions of new municipal clerks and finance officers who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their communities. The award is open to municipal clerks and finance officers who have been in their roles for less than five years.
